Connecting theory and practice:

🌿 Urban Ecology | 🐾 Wildlife Biology | 🌍 Biodiversity Conservation | 🌳 Nature-Based Solutions & Green Infrastructure 🏙️

I am an urban ecologist with expertise in wildlife biology, biodiversity conservation, and nature-based solutions, with experience in both academic and non-academic sectors. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where my research focuses on exploring ecological theories and solutions for co-designing future sustainable cities for both people and wildlife. I earned my doctorate in natural sciences from the University of Freiburg, Germany. Prior to my current role, I led a wildlife monitoring project in Freiburg at the Chair of Wildlife Ecology and Management, University of Freiburg. I worked on nature-based solution projects at the ICLEI European Secretariat and contributed to biodiversity and ecosystem conservation initiatives at IUCN in Bangladesh. My primary interest lies in advancing our understanding of the drivers behind urban biodiversity patterns and improving the planning of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions to support wildlife diversity in cities. Through my work, I emphasise bridging gaps in urban ecological knowledge between the Global South and North. My research bridges the gap between scientific evidence and public perception to promote wildlife-inclusive and sustainable urban development.
